Birchbox unboxing – January 2019

Introduction:

Hey all and welcome to my first post on this blog! I ran the blog – Katie Blogs It All for a while and lately I’ve been feeling like i need a fresh start and a fresh new blog. So I’m starting this blog in which I’ll mainly focus on unboxing subscription boxes – my newest and quite frankly craziest obsession mixed with a lot of other beauty posts!

A little about me: I’m Katie I’m 22 years old, I live in the UK and I love anything beauty, fashion and unboxings! I’m excited to share everything on here and have always loved having a blog I do want this as my forever blog so I’m excited for the journey!

Todays post is January’s Birchbox unboxing! I’ve received this box for the last couple of months and I have to say I have been so impressed with the quality of this box. The contents inside always have both full size and luxury sample sizes (because theres nothing worse than a tiny sachet). And the value of the box always exceeds the cost – which is what this is all about right? overall good quality products, pretty packaging and profit made is always a bonus!

All the products you could receive in this months Birchbox.

In Januarys Box we got a good mix of skincare and makeup products. I do love getting a great makeup product in a subscription box as makeup is somewhat overlooked a lot of the time in a lot of subscriptions.

Contents of my box this month:

Afterspa facial scrubber (Full sized) – £7 – Perfect to use when applying cleanser, with a mild scrub to exfoliate and open blocked pores.

Dr Botanicals cleansing bar in pomegranate – (Full sized) £5.90 – For use on face and body this smells and feels amazing!

Phillip Kingsley flaky/itchy scalp shampoo – (luxury sample size I got 2 uses out of it) – Full sized price – £24 – I do actually suffer from an itchy scalp so this was welcomed and worked really well.

CLĒ cosmetics essence moonlighter cushion highlighter in the shade copper rose (Full sized) – £22 – Loved the formula and how it’s a sponge! Gives the perfect glow.

Doucce maxlash volumiser mascara – (luxury sample sized) – Full sized price – £18 – really extended the eyelashes and helped curl even my stick straight lashes.

Free gift – birchbox Pom Pom hair ties. – Nice little free gift from Birchbox this month.

Total cost of the box – £15

Total Value of the box – £55.90

There wasn’t one thing I didn’t love this month but the CLĒ Cosmetics moonlighter cushion really stood out to me. The sponge makes it so easy to apply the liquid to dry highlighter for the perfect dewy finish. Overalll I was thrilled with this months box I thought it was amazing value for money and the products had a lovely high end feel to them and I can’t wait for February’s.

Thanks for reading the first post on Unbox The Blog! I really appreciate it! Have you tried any subscription boxes lately? What’s your favourite thing you’ve received if you have?

See you next time, plenty more to come!
